Oh please don't tell me you're continuing the "Levels" series. It was great, but it had it's run. It doesn't need anymore levels. Unless this is a brand new series, in which case, I'm up for it.

Anyways, I'm really loving the mix with techno and dream trance here! You've totally nailed it as always! Your choice of synths is great, the mixing and mastering's good, and just about everything else about this is pretty awesome. Great job, and Happy 2016!

X-Series, new genre, sound etc. I know when to stop beating the horse :) Glad you like it! More where this came from.

Love it! It totally reminds me of the NES! Nice job! Only complaint is that overall the track feels a little empty and a little repetitive, but oh well, that might just be me. Nice!

Keypat responds:

Sincerely, It's the firts track that i do of this kind, thanks for your advice :)

Woah, nice! Feels like it could fit in a Sonic game or something Only complaint is that it definitely feels like something is missing...but I just can't name what it is. Oh well. Nice job!

NerdRoll responds:

Thank u, ive been told that a couple of times now, wish i knew what it was too, though i feel it's good as it is. Idk lol thankz again though!! :D

Cool stuff! Glad to see someone else used Peach in their submission as well, haha. It's pretty slow paced, and I like that. Nice work.

LexRodent responds:

Thanks Evilgrapez.

Nice to see a fellow dasher that writes music instead of stealing it. This is pretty cool. I really like all the different sounds.

It needs mastering though, because it's clipping A LOT. If you got it mastered, this could be a fantastic song, but the clipping ruins it for me. Ah well. Ignoring the clipping, this is a really well done song. Nice work!

Tennon responds:

Yes you are right, I am really not that good in mastering, most of the instruments are just presets. But I am eventually getting the skill, the song that I am working on now have many instruments that I made myself with Sytrus and most of the percussions are in the mixer.

Wow, this is pretty awesome! It's kinda calming, actually. Did you use magical8bitPlug3, by any chance? I feel like I can hear it in there.

Good luck this year! I hope you place - I'd be happy to lose to you. :P

ChronoNomad responds:

Thanks a bunch, Evilgrapez! ^__~ As for what was used here, most of the instruments are from Peach and pooBoy2, as well as a little Triforce square and Toad for percussion.

Really glad that you enjoy the sound. Just checking out your Pixel Day submission now. Cool little made up holiday-like thing, huh? I dig it. Shoot, I'd be happy to lose to you, too. xD Best of luck!

ForgottenDawn responds:

Thanks man!

I actually don't have any real complaints with this one. It's well done and camlm. I like it. Short and sweet. Feels like it'd work in a game somewhere.

I might have already asked this, but what are you using on your iPad to write music? I might have a couple suggestions on other audio DAWs for you to check out.

QJrocks responds:

I'm glad you liked it! :D

I use Music Studio for iPad (also for iPhone, but I don't compose there) to make my songs.

It doesn't really feel loud enough. It could use some mastering.

The delay effects were used a bit too much, and some of the instruments could have been more well chosen. For me, it actually felt like the song was varying between happy and dramatic, especially around the end. I don't know why, it just felt that way.

The ending felt incomplete for some reason. Also, it didn't sound like it was very high quality. Is this 192kbs? The "rriiiiiiiiiiiiinnnnnnnnnnnnnnngggg" sound at 00:45 could have done without the reverb/delay effect (I can't really tell if it's either), and lastly, the mixing is pretty odd (some of the instruments are way too loud and need compression).

It's got potential to be a good track, but these flaws are what ruined it for me. I'm sorry if it sounds like I'm bashing on your work - I understand you must have spent a lot of time on this and you must have worked very hard on it. I just want to provide some criticism for you to use, that's all. You do this all the time with my tracks. :P

QJrocks responds:

You do raise some valid points.

Something that really worried me was when I previewed this on my computer, it had quite a few differences from an iPad with headphones, so that may be the cause of some problems.

Really? You thought is was too quiet? And here I thought that it was too blaringly loud...

Yeah, sometimes I felt I didn't know what direction I was taking the song in, either, but by that tine I had already put too much work into it to scrap it.

Yep, it is 192kb/s, but I don't understand why you say that this one sounds low quality while many of my other tracks use 192 or even 128 kb/s. There is an option for 328 kb/s (or somewhere around that), should I be using that?

I agree, some instruments were a bit loud, especially the xylophone around 1:50. I tried reducing tge volume a bit, but I didn't want it to get so quiet that it couldn't be heard.

Don't worry, this wasn't anywhere near bashing. You raised valid points and gave what you thought was a fair score. Neither one of us would get anywhere if we had review sections full of Yes Men :P

I really like this. It's fun and fast-paced. The vocals are pretty good, too. Only complaint is that overall it doesn't seem as loud as it could be (I'd recommend getting it mastered). Keep it up man!

Thanks for the advice and feedback! :D

Sometimes I like to press buttons that make sounds.
